OUR FACILITY
Our Residential, Complex Care Facility has a strong Italian culture and is also open to all ethnic groups. Our experienced staff is supported by 100 volunteers whose first priority is the care, comfort and security of our residents.
HOW THE PROCESS WORKS
Villa Carital is a “Transfer only” Facility.
HOW TO ASSESS ELIGIBILITY
- In order to be placed on our wait list, your loved one must meet the requirements required by Vancouver Coastal Health
- Call your local health unit to have your loved one assessed for 24 hr nursing care
HOW TO APPLY
- Your loved ones name can only be placed on the waitlist by your Case Manager and/or Social Worker
- The waitlist is maintained by Vancouver Coastal Health and no staff member at Villa Carital can make any changes to it
Your loved one has two choices whilst on our waitlist:
- Wait at home with family support, or
- Be placed in the “first available bed” in any of Vancouver Health’s facilities
HOW TO CALCULATE THE COST
- The cost of having your loved one in care is approximately 80% of their monthly income
- This amount is determined per your previous years income tax return
- Your case Manager/Social Worker will be able to help you determine the amount you will have to pay
MOVING IN
- You will only be contacted by a staff member of Villa Carital once Vancouver Coastal Health offers you a bed at Villa Carital
- All inquiries about your loved one’s assessment and status of the waitlist should be directed to your Case Manager or Social Worker
